In order to apply for a visa, proof of payment (receipt) of all fees must be submitted. All fees must be paid at least 2 months before the starting date.

Save a little money?
Participants who are certain of their attendance may combine the deposit and participation fees in one payment in order to save on handling charges. In the event of cancellation, the same repayment rules apply as if deposit and remaining fees are paid separately.

Insurance Information
You will be required to provide proof of travel insurance in order to participate in the JCLP. If you do not have adequate insurance you will be required to purchase additional coverage in Japan. Please be reminded that the costs may be higher than in your home country.
Your travel insurance should cover the following items
* any medical/dental expenses that might result from accident or illness (any deductables will be at your expense so be sure to bring adequate funds)
* liability in the event that you should be responsible for an accident at your homestay
* coverage for emergency medical evacuation or the loss of your return ticket due to hospitalization or illness
You might also consider protection against loss arising from
* baggage loss or delay
* loss of travel documents
* extra travel and accommodation expenses incurred to replace lost travel documents (you would have to go to Tokyo)
Note: We do not allow driving while participating in the JCLP. If you plan to drive before or after the JCLP session, be aware that you must have a valid international driver's license to drive in Japan and adequate auto insurance. The JCLP cannot be responsible for accidents. Your host family members and students will not permit you to drive their vehicles.
The risks to be covered by travel insurance are in most cases not covered by your personal accident insurance or your medical insurance at home. Even if your insurance provides some travel coverage, check to be sure that it covers the items mentioned previously. Holders of premium credit cards often have travel insurance coverage automatically included. Please check with your credit card company and be prepared to provide proof of the details of the coverage.
