アジア・ユース・フォーラム（AYF）を5つの言葉で表すとしたら、「エンパワー」「教育」「感動」「楽しい」そして「愛」です。
私はベトナム人の代表としてAYFに参加しました。

今年のAYFは韓国での開催で、アジアの10の国や地域（カンボジア、インドネシア、日本（沖縄をふくめ）、ラオス、マレーシア、フィリピン、韓国、タイ、ベトナム）から29人の若者が集まり、1週間かけて行われました。
私たちは 言葉の壁、異文化、ステレオタイプを超えて、短い時間で驚くほど親しい関係ができ、素晴らしい友達とインスピレーションあふれる先生に出会い、たくさんの忘れられない経験を持つことができました。

AYFに参加することは、私の人生の中で一番正しい選択でした。AYFは疑いもなく人生を変えるイベントです。

私の一番の思い出は、KOTESOL（アジアの英語教員のための大規模な会議）のために、アジアの国々にある誤解について、45分のプレゼンテーションを準備したことです。
私たちの発表は、それぞれの国の歴史教科書について特に焦点を合わせました。朝3時までお互いの意見にしっかりと向き合い、誠実に話し合ったことは、いつまでも忘れられない思い出です。

私たちは、相手の考えや気持ちが正しく理解できるように、日本語、英語、マレーシア語とさまざまな言語を駆使しました。
私たちが仲よくなるのに言葉の壁はありませんでした。それは、私たちが心という共通の言語を使って通じ合えたからです。

2017年のAYFは終わりましたが、私たちの友情は永遠に続きます。

Five words that I use to describe the Asian Youth Forum (AYF) are empowering, educational, inspiring, fun, and love!
I participated in AYF as a delegate of Vietnam which brought together twenty-nine students from ten countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Okinawa and Vietnam for a weeklong event in Seoul. We overcame language barriers, different cultures, stereotypes, and we got surprisingly close relationships in a short time. I met amazing friends and inspirational teachers, and I had memorable experiences. I just want to say this: becoming a member of AYF was one of the most correct choices that I have made in my life. AYF is undoubtedly a life-changing event. One of my best memories is preparing for a forty –five-minute presentation about “Asian misunderstanding,” for KOTESOL (a large conference for English teachers in Asia). Our presentation specifically focused on history textbooks. I will never forget that we stayed awake until 3am to talking honestly and frankly with each other. We had used a lot of languages: Japanese, English, Malaysia, and Indonesian to make sure we correctly understood each other. Language barriers clearly didn’t bother us as we got along so well with each other. We shared the same language: the language of the heart. The 2017 AYF finished, but our friendship and our love will last forever. The next people to experience AYF could be you. Don’t hesitate to grab new challenges and opportunities that will empower you to transform yourself. (Tran Thi Huong)
