I was very happy to read the comments regarding the good points and the points that some students feel need to be revised. Some students expressed contradictory viewpoints in regard to my use of Japanese. One student wrote that the teacher should learn Japanese. Another student wanted the teacher to use Japanese in class. I believe that third-year English communication department students should have some classes conducted only in English, and I want to make students use their brains and stretch their abilities, so I purposefully do not use Japanese even when I can. The students know my policy regarding Japanese usage, and they chose to take this class. I will not change this point, especially when there were positive comments from students who appreciate my policy of not speaking Japanese.
