All the positive comments above made me happy. This course was very rewarding because I believe the content to be of great importance and students came to feel the same way. I was concerned about the gap in language abilities that existed among the students, but they cooperated well. While teaching this course, I realized that students need to study more about Niigata in connection with international problems. I tried to help students understand the relationships between individual actions and international issues. This seemed to be an effective teaching strategy, so I will continue doing so this year.
