Economic activity despoils the environment. By creating a high quality of life, we waste environmental resources by emitting carbon dioxide. Since The Great East Japan Earthquake and the accident at the TEPCO Fukushima Power Station in 2011, it has taken enormous time and money to reduce environment destruction and health damage accompanying the accident. We need to take the most appropriate course of action and seriously think about sustainable social systems.
Environmental economics gives us the capacity to understand various environmental issues including the factors and mechanism of environmental disruption. Environmental economics also helps us understand the rationale of environmental policies.
