私は、10月18日から24日まで韓国で開催されたAYF（アジア・ユース・フォーラム）に参加しました。

グッドマーカー先生の引率で敬和学園大学からは3名の学生がAYFに参加

AYFはアジアの国や地域から集まった若者たちがそれぞれの文化を紹介したり、社会問題について話し合ったりするイベントです。

最初は不安でしたが、さまざまなことが経験でき、とてもよい機会になりました。特に印象に残っているできごとは、国際会議で2つのグループに分かれ、「ステレオタイプ」と「英語教育」についてのプレゼンテーションを行ったことです。さまざまな国や地域の現在の教育、文化、環境について、自身の耳で聞くことができた本当に貴重な機会でした。

観光をする時間もあったので、ほかの参加者と一緒に買い物をしたり、おいしいものを食べたり、観光名所を見て回ったり、ソウルの街を観光しました。このようなこともあり、充実した1週間を送ることができました。

AYFに参加するという選択は、英語はもちろん、それ以外の勉強のモチベーション向上にもつながったので、本当によい選択となりました。

I attended the AYF from October 18th to 24th in Korea. AYF is an event in which students from Asian countries introduce their countries’ cultures and discuss social issues. I was uneasy at first, but it was a very good opportunity. I learned countless lessons. One particularly valuable experience was when we were divided into two groups. Our groups presented on the topics of stereotypes and English education at the international conference of an association called the Korean Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. It was a precious experience for me to listen to students from other countries speak about current educational and cultural environments within their countries. There was time for sightseeing, so the other participants and I explored sections of downtown Seoul. We went shopping, ate delicious foods, and saw numerous attractions. I had a productive week. Furthermore, choosing to attend this event was a good choice because it motivated me to study English and other parts of the world.　(Mihona Abe)
