【学生レポート】台湾で行われたアジア・ユース・フォーラム2016に参加しました

アジア・ユース・フォーラム（AYF）が、11月8日から1週間の日程で台湾にて開催され、本学から3名の学生がグッドマーカー先生の引率で参加してきました。

アジアの多くの国と地域から若者が集まり、英語を共通語にお互いの文化を学び合い、社会の諸問題について議論を交わしました。リーダーシップ、責任感、協働を柱にしたセミナーやワークショップを通して、有意義な異文化交流が展開し、参加者同士の絆を深めることができました。

私はこのイベントに父親と一緒になって参加し、さまざまな状況の人たちと出会いました。車椅子に乗りながら海外へ行くということは、なかなかに貴重な経験でした。何ヶ所か私が通れないところもありましたが、他の人たちの助けによって遅れずについていくことができました。
6日目になって、教育に従事している方々の前でスピーチをするチャンスがやってきました。私は障がい者と教育について、私の持論を語りました。そして、その時私は障がい者代表としての役目を果たしたように感じました。
このフォーラムで、私はできる限りたくさんのことを学びとるために、できるだけ意見表明を行いました。そのおかげで、他では得られないような大きな達成感を得ることができました。私はこの人生で最も濃密な1週間が今後につながると確信しています。来年の開催地は韓国だと聞いているので、できればまた参加したいです。

I participated in this event with my father, and we met people in diverse situations. Traveling overseas in a wheelchair was quite a unique experience. There were a few places in Taiwan where I couldn’t move about, but I was able to keep up with the other students because of their help. On the sixth day of the AYF, I had a chance to make a speech in front of many people who are engaged in education. I said what I wanted to say about education and disabled people. At that moment I felt that I had fulfilled my duty as a delegate for challenged people.

To learn as much as possible, I tried to express my opinion as much as I could during this forum. Thanks to that, I was able to gain a great sense of achievement which couldn’t be achieved anywhere else.
I’m sure that this, the most eventful week in my life would be a step to the future. I have heard that this event will be held in Korea next year. I would like to participate again if I can.

台湾の台北で11月8日から11月15日にかけて行われたアジア・ユース・フォーラムに参加してきました。このフォーラムには、約10の国と地域から50人が参加しました。
私たちはこのフォーラムの中で、環境問題、社会問題、経済や政治について話し合いました。また、互いの文化を知るために、伝統的な踊りを披露したり、民族衣装を着たり、自国についてのプレゼンテーションをしたり、自分たちの母語を教えあったりしました。活動のいくつかはとても真剣なものでした。私たちはいろいろな国から来ていて、さまざまな考えを持っており、時には意見が対立することもありました。また、AYFの中で、著名な先生方の前で自分たちの意見をまとめて発表する機会も設けられました。AYFでの活動をよりよいものにするため、寝ずに朝まで準備をしていた日もありました。しかし、そんなハードだったこともすべてよい思い出です。あの辛かったことをみんなで乗り越えられたからこそ、私たちは国や民族の違いを超えてひとつになることができました。
AYFの全てのプログラムが堅苦しいものだったわけではありません。自由時間にはAYFでできた友達と夜市に出かけたり観光に出かけたりと、素晴らしい時間を過ごすこともできました。
AYFが始まったばかりのころは、自分の言った英語を理解してもらえなかったり、レクチャーについていくことができなかったりしてもう嫌だと思うことが多々ありましたが、先生方や周りの友達に助けられ、最後の方にはすらすらとコミュニケーションがとれるまでになっていました。全ての人に感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。私たちのAYFは終わりましたが、今でも互いに連絡を取り合っています。いつかまたAYFのメンバーと会える日を！

I attended the Asian Youth Forum that was held in Taipei, Taiwan, from November 8 to November 15. The forum was composed of approximately fifty delegates from ten different countries and advisors from around five other countries. We talked about global issues, social issues, economics and politics around the world. In addition, we introduced our own cultures to each other. For example, we held cultural performances, wore ethnic costumes, presented on our countries, taught our own languages and organized workshops. Some sessions were very serious because we have own cultures, and accepting other viewpoints is not always easy. We expressed our opinions in front of various distinguished people. We worked so hard to prepare for our activities that some evenings we did not sleep. However, all of our AYF experiences were meaningful for us. We overcame hard things, so we could unite. During free time, we spent wonderful moments with our friends. We came from various countries; so at first, we were confused by such things as other languages and customs. In my case, sometimes other people did not understand my English, and I couldn’t keep up with the lectures in the beginning of AYF. I almost cried. At the times, my teachers and friends helped and encouraged me. I appreciate all of those people. Now, I am staying in touch with AYF friends. I hope our friendships will last and that I can them again.
